Hatch alternatives: Hatch vs Setterly for home service and remodeling companies

Hatch is an AI communications platform for home service and home improvement businesses: its AI CSRs answer calls, texts and emails and book leads around the clock. Setterly is a done-for-you service that works the leads you already have (old inquiries, unsold estimates) by two-way AI text and charges per booked appointment. If you need an always-on AI front desk, look at Hatch; if your gap is the backlog of leads nobody has time to reopen, Setterly is the closer fit.

    What does Hatch do?

Hatch describes its AI CSRs as answering "every call, text, and email" and booking qualified leads 24/7 for trades such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, remodeling and windows and doors (Hatch). Its FAQ describes pricing as a platform fee plus usage on annual plans, billed monthly and per location. Hatch also publishes research on estimate follow-up, including a study of 163,212 HVAC follow-up campaigns (Hatch).

Hatch doesn't publish dollar prices. ServiceAgent, a competing vendor, reports Standard starting around $600 a month per location plus usage (ServiceAgent); treat that as a third-party estimate and confirm with Hatch.

    How is Setterly different?

Setterly is narrower on purpose. It doesn't answer your phones. It takes the leads you already own (unsold estimates, past inquiries, platform leads that never booked), texts each one about what they asked for, holds the conversation and books an appointment with your team. We run it for you, and you pay per booked appointment with no setup fee and no retainer.

That makes the two complementary for many companies: an AI front desk for today's leads, and reactivation for the backlog. See lead reactivation for contractors and unsold estimate follow-up.

Should you choose Hatch or Setterly?

Choose Hatch if: You want one platform to answer calls, texts and email around the clock, you have the team to run it, and you're comfortable with an annual, per-location plan.

Choose Setterly if: Your biggest gap is old leads and unsold estimates nobody follows up, you want it done for you, and you'd rather pay per booked appointment than per seat or location.
